ChristmasOrnaments.com Review

27 Nov
I was given this ADORABLE ornament from ChristmasOrnaments.com.

Isn’t it super cute.  I chose an ornament from the Couples section, because I thought it would a sweet gift for my husband.  It was.  He loves it.  I haven’t gotten around to engraving it with our names just yet.

There are hundreds of ornaments to choose from at ChristmasOrnaments.com!  I found my ornament in the Family section

Not only do they have ornaments, you can also find

They also have a wonderful section called Christmas Tips and Fun.  LOTS of cool info, ideas and DIY tips included!!

I also LOVE that they have ornaments from all over the world…

You’re sure to find that special ornament for your holiday!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Disclosure:  I received a free ornament for review purposes.  I was in no other way compensated for this post. These opinions are my own.

Pottery Barn Inspired Wreath

23 Nov

I just LOVE this wreath here from Pottery Barn.

Source

But $79 is WAY outta my price range for a wreath!  So, I did like any good crafting blogger and headed straight to Dollar Tree!!  I got 3 packs of ornaments but didn’t find a wreath large enough.  I did fine one at Walmart. 20 inches for only $2.48!!  Not to bad huh?

Now, if you look closely a few of the ornaments on the PB wreath have swirly glittery circles.  I dug out my glitter glue and made a few for my wreath.

Then I started to attach the ornaments with twist ties.

What do y’all think??  I love it!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

I’m a loving wife. My husband Mark and I are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary this December. We don’t have any kids yet, so our world revolves around two “cat children.”

I’m the owner of the blog Simply Sweet Home, where I  feature recipes, product reviews/giveaways, and other fun homemaking topics.

And I also have an Etsy shop called Simply Sweet Creations, where I sell handmade jewelry and accessories.  I hope you enjoy my creations!

Tissue Paper Tree Tutorial

18 Nov
Y’all asked….and so here it is!!  The Tissue Paper Christmas Tree Tutorial!!

First you will need…
 tissue paper
printer paper
scissors
pencil
tape
and hot glue.
If you use white school glue this becomes a fun kid friendly project.  However, it takes a bit longer to hold each tissue in place and well….I’m impatient!  I have done this with Alie before and she had a lot of fun making tissue trees with me.
I find it’s easiest to fold several pieces of tissue paper into a thin long strip and cut inch wide strips from it.  Then unwind the strips and cut squares from it.
Using a piece of printer paper form a cone and tape it together.
Trim the bottom so that it stands up straight.

Take a pencil and place the square over the eraser and fold down. Then place a dab of hot glue onto the top.

Then start placing the little squares onto the cone.  Those lines I placed to help as a guide.  I decided to make this one a peppermint twist tree!!

Keep placing the folded squares close together.

Almost done!!
Make sure to fill in all the bald spots…

Fluff up the spots that got squished by fingers…
Clean up the glue strings and keep filling in the bald spots…
Trim the pieces that are too long…
Now, we’re finished!!  Super cute huh??
I hope this is a helpful tutorial.  I would LOVE to see if you give it a try!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
